Puffin beak loaded full of fish... photographed in the fog.

Atlantic Puffin - Fratercula arctica

I have taken far too many photos of Puffins over the years...
but these are a little different...

Taken in the fog and using a flash...
Thus giving these photos a strange background and almost fake hyper-realism.

Anymore fish and it might be hard to fly! or breath...

that is more than a mouth full...

  1. Love these Tommy! I have fond memories of puffins on Skomer Island but would love to see them at Fair Isle, maybe one day!

  2. Dear Tommy

I have just watched "The Show" which I recorded on 21st June last. It was the first time I'd seen it. I do like Ben Fogle's "New lives in the wild" programmes. I would love to come to Fair Isle and stay at your "Laird's cottage" and taste your wonderful food. Unfortunately I'm in my 60s and have various medical problems but I think my partner and myself could perhaps manage to make it as I feel it would be worth it. I would love to meet you as you seem a person after my own heart: A glass half full person! I think the life you have carved out for yourself and Henry is amazing and you deserve all the luck in the world.

    All the very best

  4. You must have been pretty close to be able to use a flash.
